Practice
fuzion is an independent watch design studio based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland — at the heart of Swiss watchmaking. The practice works at the intersection of watchmaking and product design, taking on a small number of considered commissions each year. It was founded by Adrian Buchmann and operates by appointment.
Our brief is simple: design objects that are quietly confident, mechanically honest, and built to outlive the season they were made in. We work in close dialogue, often alongside the brand's own team. A team of six — designers, engineers and business developers — turns the brief into the object, backed by a long-standing network of watchmakers, finishers, suppliers and production partners across Switzerland. The studio takes on bold briefs that ask for a holistic view of the project and the brand we assist, from first sketch through to specification and production handover.

Profile
Adrian Buchmann is a Swiss watch designer and the founder of fuzion. He grew up in Le Locle, where his mother worked at the watchmaking school — a youth spent drawing and making in and around its workshops. Technical and design schools followed.
His career began at Neodesis in Le Locle. Later, with the watchmaker Jean-François Mojon of Chronode, he co-developed high-complication concepts through the start-up Yno — creating new complications and filing patents along the way.
In 2017 he co-founded Sequent, the first Swiss brand of automatic smartwatches, with Harry Guhl — founder and former chairman of Czapek & Cie — and led it from concept through to production.
In parallel he established fuzion in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland: an independent practice where he directs design across haute horlogerie and innovative watchmaking, taking projects from blank page through to full production.
